This 3-day Classical Jordan tour covers the country's greatest archaeological and historical treasures in a logical circuit. Cross the Sheikh Hussein Bridge from Israel into Jordan. Day 1: Jerash — one of the best-preserved Roman provincial cities in the world, a member of the ancient Decapolis league of ten cities. Walk colonnaded streets, enter the Oval Plaza, the Temple of Artemis, Roman theaters, and ancient bathhouses that have stood for 2,000 years. Continue to Amman for a panoramic city tour before settling into your hotel. Day 2: Journey south to Petra — Jordan's most famous landmark and one of the Seven New Wonders of the World. Enter through the Siq gorge, explore the Treasury, ancient Tombs and Temples, and the Al Madhbah High Place of Sacrifice overlook. Overnight in Wadi Musa. Day 3: Madaba — home to the oldest existing map of the Holy Land, a 6th-century Byzantine mosaic in St. George's Church. Continue to Mount Nebo, where Moses saw the Promised Land and was buried, with panoramic views of the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Jerusalem. Cross the Allenby Bridge back to Israel.
